A clean animated illustration of Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, capturing the iconic home of SSC Napoli in a timeless canvas design.
Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, located in Naples, Italy, has been the home of SSC Napoli since 1959. Originally opened as Stadio del Sole, the stadium was later renamed Stadio San Paolo in 1963 before being officially renamed in 2020 to honor Diego Armando Maradona, the legendary Argentine footballer who led Napoli to its greatest successes during the 1980s.
The stadium was built to serve as one of southern Italy’s largest sporting venues and has undergone several renovations throughout its history. It was extensively modernized ahead of the 1990 FIFA World Cup, during which it hosted multiple matches, including a memorable semifinal between Italy and Argentina. Over the years, the stadium’s capacity has varied, but it currently holds approximately 54,000 spectators, making it one of the largest stadiums in Italy.
Stadio Diego Armando Maradona witnessed Napoli’s historic Serie A title wins in 1986–87 and 1989–90 during Maradona’s era, cementing its place in football history. More recently, it hosted the club’s long-awaited return to domestic glory in the 2022–23 season. The stadium is also known for its dramatic setting, with views of the city of Naples and Mount Vesuvius in the distance, adding to its unique atmosphere.
This animated canvas poster captures the stadium illuminated at night with the Naples skyline and Mount Vesuvius beyond, offering a striking tribute to one of Italy’s most iconic football venues. Perfect for Napoli supporters and fans of football history.
